It's Time for the New Dimension Comics Legendary Basement Sale Again!!!

Every section of pop culture has a certain mythology about it. There’s Bigfoot, Mary Black, trolls, dragons, and the New Dimension Comics Legendary Basement Sale. You know, you’ve got to see it to believe it.

What’s that? You’re not familiar with the NDC Basement Sale? Well, to make a long story shorter (okay, it’s not that long anyway), the basement of the Ellwood City mega-store of New Dimension Comics catalogs and curates over a half-million comic books. Two or three times a year, that basement is open for the shopping public.

Since I am an honored employee at NDC, I’m largely responsible for filing into what I consider the personal collection of the owner and probably the finest selection of back issues that I have EVER seen. Factor in three decades worth of collection up and down the East Coast, and that statement should really mean something.

The New Dimension Comics Basement contains pretty much all the popular titles you would expect, Spider-Man, Hulk, Avengers, etc, but this place is also home to some of the more obscure and difficult to find titles. Looking for The Human Fly? We’ve got that. Looking for Starriors? Yep, we’ve got that too. What about such modern hard to find fare like Rick and Morty, Beavis and Butthead, or even Alf? Yep, we’ve got those too.

What about the people behind the books? Garth Ennis, George Perez, Ron Lim, Todd McFarlane, Warren Ellis, Frank Miller, and many many more are all represented in the basement with various works associated with each artist or writer. Your favorite is probably there as well.

The best thing? All of these issues are only $1 each. Now that’s cool.

This is one of the best chances collectors, fans, and enthusiasts have to pick up runs of titles without spending a ton of cash. This is likely the last chance of the year to have some ease plucking those issues you’ve been trying to get your hands on for years.

The New Dimension Comics Legendary Basement Sale starts at 8AM and runs until 7PM on September 30, 2017, and with Fall Fest taking place around Ellwood City that day parking might be a bit of a challenge, but this is one date that collectors should try to make.

After all, seeing is believing. So grab your checklist and stop by, you might be surprised to check off some pretty impressive boxes. I’ll be there to help you find as many treasures as possible so feel free to ask or just say hi. There is A LOT to see and pick through.

New Dimension Comics Celebrating 30 Years In Style

When you think of three decades in existence, there are a lot of possibilities. Thirty years is a long time. Take that from a comic book store perspective, and the chances of accumulating a lot of stuff is even more possible. New Dimension Comics is celebrating its 30-year anniversary in serious style by offering up a sale of epic proportions.

On June 18, for one day only, the massive one dollar section of the Ellwood City store and every other store that packs in one dollar issues will be offering those comics for just 30-cents. While the basement will not be open during this sale, the chances of scoring some pretty great issues at three for a dollar is pretty incredible.

Better yet, just about everything in the store will be 30-percent off (some restrictions will apply, obviously). That's an amazing chance to get your dollars to go farther on those comics you've been chasing for years. How cool is that?

While the dollar side of the Ellwood City store regularly undergoes a serious search and rescue for lost valuable back issues, there are still some diamonds hidden in the rough. Yes, patience is of the essence, and the chances of really striking a smile on a great deal is very very real.

So if you are out and about in the Ellwood City area, or Pittsburgh Mills, or Century 3 Mall, or Ohio Valley Mall, or Butler Mall, or Cranberry (that's right count 'em six different stores peppering the Pittsburgh region), you are going to want to stop into New Dimension Comics and see just what might be available at a real favorable price. Plus, many locations will have free cake as way of celebrating thirty years of comic book business.

If you stop into the Ellwood store that day, maybe grab a cup of coffee from the staff frequented National Grind coffee shop and see if you can find me, I'll be upstairs that evening for a few hours helping everyone find their favorite issues. Believe me, you won't want to miss this sale!

Don't Miss Out on the Million Comics Madness Sale at New Dimension Comics Ellwood City

Comic book shops are one of the little pleasures of life. What’s better than heading into a local comic store and sharing a conversation with a group of like-minded people? Oh, that’s actually an easy question to answer. What’s better? How about a sale, a huge sale that involves about a million comic books. Even better would be to offer all of those great books for the low price of one dollar each. Now that would be even better yet.

Don’t worry if your geek is showing right now, because it’s about to. For one day one, Saturday June 4th, 2016 from 10am to 7pm New Dimension Comics in Ellwood City will be opening all of its warehouses and offering its wares for the low price of one dollar each. This is not a drill, this is reality, and it is a huge win for collectors in the Pittsburgh area looking to score some great deals on some great back issues.

Of course, the Basement at the Ellwood City store is pretty legendary. Since I work at the store, I can attest there are A LOT of comics in order ready to fill those boxes. Better yet, the dollar side on the upstairs features a host of back issues in order as well. The old store a few doors down will be open and the VFW will also be open ready to cater to your dollar book dreams. That’s right, this is the Million Comic Book Sale, and everything is just one dollar.

The biggest question I get is “Yeah, that’s great, but is there anything good buried in those one dollar boxes waiting to be found?” That’s fair, after all digging through long box after long box of unsorted books can be tough on anyone. I can attest to finding Iron Man #282 (the first War Machine) in the VFW and putting back and not being able to find it again. New Mutants #14 and #18 are upstairs in the current store somewhere, along with more than a few variants a lot of folks would love. There’s also a Ratchet & Clank #1 floating around along with more than one Silver Age gem buried. The point is, there are several finds waiting to be had.

Yep, all those hot books are lying around waiting to be found eager to go home with you at the one dollar mark. The Basement is pretty legendary in its own right, because if it’s not down there, it’s not anywhere. Trust me, I’ve been all over this country of ours, and Todd has done a tremendous job of building what is probably the biggest and best collection of back issues anywhere.

Sure I’m biased because I work at New Dimension Comics, but this is one sale that you simply have to make time to attend. It’s all happening at the Ellwood City store this Saturday. I won’t be there, but every other member of the staff will be ready to help you out. Remember, first come first serve.
